Google Pixel 4A: First Impression
The awaited mid-range smartphone from the Google Pixel 4a is here. Google has recently announced the brand-new Pixel 4a, the successor of Pixel 3a. It is expected to compete with Apple SE 2020 and One Plus Nord in the mid-range section.

Design and Display
The dimensions 144 x 69.4 x 8.2 mm and weight of 143gm make the Pixel 4a a compact device that fits in the human hands very well. It can be carried anywhere effortlessly and easily accessible with one hand. The phone is pretty light-weighted due to its polycarbonate unibody design. On the backside, there is no more dual ton finished design like its predecessor Pixel 3a. It is a simple uniform matte finished texture which feels great and a lot less slippery than the glass.
This time, Google has listened to its customers and removed the ugly notch from the front screen. They managed to fit a solid 5.8inch OLED Full HD+ screen covered with Gorilla Glass 3 on this compact size phone thanks to the punch hole screen design technology. The Pixel 4a has a 3.5mm jack and stereo speaker. People must be relieved to have the headphone jack on the phone since it has become one of the rarities nowadays.

Pixel 4a is rocking with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor, 6 GB RAM, and 128GB storage. The Snapdragon 730G processor is powerful enough to handle whatever you through at it. It manages all of your daily activities very well with 6 GB of RAM. When it comes to gaming, the phone is capable to give smooth performance.
The phone has 3,140mAh of battery. With the combination of low-powered snapdragon 730G and 6 GB of RAM, the phone can surely last the whole day on normal usage. Though the heavy gaming can surely drain the battery of this much amount pretty quickly. The device does not support wireless charging but it comes with 18W fast charger.
The device has a fingerprint sensor right in the middle of the back below the camera module, where our human finger naturally rests.
Talking about the software, it is running on the current latest version Android 11. The device has the touch of pure, simple, and minimalistic stock Android OS without any customization. Unlike other smartphone companies, Google provides at least 3 years of software update support. Therefore, users need not worry about software and security support.
Camera
The Pixel 4a offers a single 12.2MP rear camera with an f/1.7 aperture and an 84-degree field of view and an 8MP front camera. Yes, you read it right. Nowadays where the other smartphones are rocking with what 2,3 or sometimes even 4 cameras with 48MP or 64MP configuration, the Pixel 4a has only one. It can shoot 4K video at 30fps, 1080p at 30fps, 60fps and 120fps, and 720p at 30fps, 60fps and a super-slow 240fps.
Theoretically, it may seem that the picture quality of this phone won’t be as good as the other high-end MP smartphone cameras. This is where you are wrong! Everybody knows that Pixel line-up has the best camera software setup out there in the world. While it has only one camera on the rear side, the quality of the images is quite up to the notch thanks to the camera optimization. The color contrast and dynamic range are on point. The device can shoot in the dark also with the help of its night mode.
The front-facing camera is pretty powerful too. The user can get crisp and clear portraits pictures or great selfies with details thanks to the intelligent google software optimization.

The Pixel 4a is priced at 349$. At this price point, the phone provides a solid competition for other mid-range smartphones. However, if we look around in the market, there are many smartphones available with a variety of storage, processors, RAM, and camera options.
